Katathani Phuket Beach Resort - Sha Extra Plus - Kata Beach (Phuket)

Just a great fit for a hurried visit in Kata Beach with extraordinarily good value for money. The NYE gala event was fantastic, with fine decor and an amazing buffet. Plan to enjoy the beach and avoid peak breakfast times.

Loved every detail about my great 10 nights stay here. Had the deluxe room and it was spacious in good condition. The beachfront restaurant served lots of decent food. The service here was incredible.

The restaurant was affordable for dinner, we ordered hot dishes. The staff was good and assisted us greatly. The location was stunning, you can visit Hero Taxi Phuket by walking...

We stayed 6 nights and chose a Junior Suite. The outlook over the pool and the ocean was just sooooo very relaxing, neither of us wanted to leave when the time came to fly to Bangkok for the next part of our holiday. I loved the fact that you could nominate if the bed was too hard/too soft, and the bed was adjusted accordingly. We slept very soundly. One night we booked the "full moon dinner" - a romantic alfresco dinner - and even though (being the beginning of the monsoon season) the table was relocated to an undercover area due to light rain, we felt very spoilt and enjoyed the lovely gourmet multi course dinner served by very attentive staff. The Katathani has a number of "theme" dinners during the week, and we enjoyed the italian buffet - one of the best Fettucines I have every tasted. We also took part in the on-site fruit carving lesson which was really worthwhile and the best way to spend an hour or so on a hot and humid afternoon. I spent a bit of time lying around the pool (to do a bit more relaxing!) and even got my hubby to have a poolside foot massage plus manicure and pedicure (he's usually a bit too macho for this, but he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and says that he might just try that again sometime!!). With 850 meters of sandy beach right on the doorstep of the resort, it was lovely to walk along the beach and watch the setting sun. I would recommend the Katathani to anyone wanting a relaxing and stress-free holiday.

Nothing really negative to say at all. The only thing I can think of is that the Katathani is located in Kata Noi which is over the hill from the main Kata Beach shopping/dining precinct, and even though we walked the hill a couple of times, in the heat I would suggest that a taxi (200 Baht) is the best way to get into Kata. (Most of the hotels in Kata beach aren't on the actual beach, so this is the compromise. The Katathani has everything you need, and there are a couple of local restaurants and small shops directly across the road from the hotel's main entrance, so you are left not wanting for anything.

The resort's multiple pools and beachside breakfast experience made mornings relaxing. The staff were attentive, we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Navigating the area can be a bit challenging due to its distance from the central attractions, and some guests may find the overall atmosphere a touch quieter than anticipated.

Comfortable rooms with an excellent service. Large space around pools easy access to the beach. Wifi worked well but could be a bit faster.

Inability of many of staff members to communicate in english. It is not fair towards the guest nor the employee.

We liked that you could change to a softer mattress on request. We liked the late check out, which helped s greatly with our travel arrangements.

Some areas of the resort need a freshen up - such as front of the hotel and the elevators. We did not really enjoy the meal (set menu) at Fishermans Wharf - food was plain and tasteless.

Hotel staff made the stay excellent. There are plenty and different things to do. The location is far better than other resorts in Phuket island (probably best within island) and although at the south end it is not disconnected in terms of activities. Hotel is great, rooms also, facilities very good. Restaurants are very good.

Breakfast is fairly good but far from restaurant quality. Internet is slow and painfull. Just for email download (essential needs) it is very time consuming especially when someone doesn't want to spend much time on PC.

Reasonably priced place, had an incredible stay with excellent service and facilities. The location was marvellous, metres from Mom Tri's Spa Royale.

Beautiful well tended gardens. Nice big rooms with good facilities. Friendly staff. Well tended pool areas with an adult only pool.Good for families.

Area immediately round hotel was lacking in facilities and was very quiet. We had to walk over the hill to Kata Yoi for a selection of shops and restaurants which was quite a struggle in the for us as a "mature couple" of which one of us has mobility problems. Unfortunately it was impossible to get a taxi at a reasonable price for the very short distance from the hotel or anywhere else- 200 bhats is extortion!! Obviously all the taxi drivers have arranged this between them so a fair rate cannot be found. In Bangkok we travelled for much greater distances at a fracton of the price and in a capitl city too! The hotel should organise a shuttle bus at a nominal price to take people over to kata yoi every few hours during the day and stop this monopoly by taxi drivers.

I like the hotel,especially the food in the every restaurants.The everythings is fantastic. Even the beach is public, also clean, quite and beautiful.

it is far from the airport. a hour by taxi.

Perfect Family Getaway!

The beautiful double rooms were very spacious! We enjoyed amazing breakfasts, so many choices, and every morning the staff was super friendly!

It wasn't inexpensive, but still manageable for the experience we got.

Clean wonderful hotel, positive staff and awesome location in the Chalay restaurant. Location really close to Kata centrum for having better and cheaper lunch and dinner, the best beach for 2 couples with kids under 4, and centrum.
